BACKGROUND
Bapco Upstream is planning to installation of non-associated gas compressor facilities (NCFs) as well as remote gas dehydration units (GDUs) to facilitate gas production at the Awali field. The non-associated gas (NAG) Long-Term Field Development (LTFD) project is a continuation of Tatweer’s commitment to secure the delivery of natural gas needed to meet the growing demand power demands of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The project aims to install a series of gas processing units, wells, and pipelines to reach the optimal gas supply required for 2030.
PROJECT SCOPE
The scope of the project encompasses the installation of non-associated gas compression facilities (NCF), gas lifting systems, and a gas injection unit. It also includes the installation of remote gas dehydration units (GDU), various machinery, and safety and security systems. Additionally, the project involves the construction of pipelines, well hook-ups, and other associated facilities necessary to support the overall operation.
PROJECT STATUS
As of January 2026, the project is scheduled for completion on October 20, 2026. Petrofac expects to receive a contract for another 10 wellheads by May 2027.
