Cleanmax Raises $575 Million For 1 Gw Renewable Projects Across Rajasthan And Karnataka

CleanMax has raised $575 million through a mix of external commercial borrowings (ECB), INR borrowings, and foreign currency non-resident (Bank) (FCNR(B)) facilities from domestic and international banks to expand its solar and wind projects in India. The funding will support around 1 GW of Central Transmission Utility-connected renewable projects across Rajasthan and Karnataka.

Clean Max Celestial Private Limited secured $141.94 million through an FCNR(B) facility from an unnamed Indian public sector bank, while Clean Max Tasman Private Limited raised $124.63 million via an ECB facility from Societe Generale, BNP Paribas, and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group. In addition, VEH Green Energy Private Limited secured $174 million through ECB financing from Credit Agricole, HSBC, and DBS Bank, while Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Limited obtained an Rs 6.5 billion term loan from HSBC and Clean Max Atlas Private Limited secured an Rs 6.3 billion term loan from BNP Paribas and HSBC.

In May 2026, Apple announced plans to expand its renewable energy investments in India through a partnership with CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions Limited. As part of the initiative, Apple plans to make an initial investment of Rs 1 billion to support the development of more than 150 MW of new renewable energy capacity.
