The Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company (MPPMCL) has invited bids for the supply of energy from 282.5 MW/1,130 MWh battery energy storage systems (BESS). The last date for online bid submission is June 9, 2026, and for hardcopy submission is June 11, 2026.

According to the tender guidelines, the project must be completed within 12 months from the signing of the battery energy storage purchase agreement. The BESS project will be connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS) network, and developers will be responsible for obtaining ISTS connectivity as per applicable regulations. The project will operate under the build, own, and operate (BOO) model.

Additionally, the project is eligible for grants under the viability gap funding of Rs 1.2 million per MWh or 30 per cent of the capital cost of the project. Furthermore, bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 480,000 per MW and a bid processing fee of Rs 1.5 million.
