Continuing to quickly grow its store count, the Ohio-based pizza chain Marco’s Pizza is headed to The Land of Enchantment. The pizza chain has announced a nine-unit development deal to bring its first stores to New Mexico with the help of franchisees Chris and Kristian Ornelas, who currently operate 38 Fiesta Auto Insurance locations in the state. Site selection is currently underway, with the first two locations slated to open in the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho areas before the end of next year’s first quarter. “We are thrilled to welcome Chris and Kristian to Marco’s,” said Gerardo Flores, Chief Development Officer at Marco’s Pizza. “Our expansion into New Mexico is a move that underscores our commitment to bringing our exceptional product to new markets. This strategic growth aligns perfectly with our vision of reaching more customers and tapping into the incredible potential we see across New Mexico. Our research indicates the state is poised for remarkable growth, and we are excited to contribute to its development while also expanding our footprint.” The entry into New Mexico is the latest of several expansions Marco’s has announced this year. Kingly Court Home To New Goldies Store
Created by the team behind revered local bistro Blanchette, the 1,100sq ft restaurant on the ground floor represents a debut location for the hospitality concept, in a prime location that serves both Carnaby Street shoppers and those that make a dedicated trip to Kingly Court for its quality food and drink offer. Shaftesbury Capital has announced that Goldies has officially opened within Soho’s Kingly Court. Goldies’ menu focuses on the use of a wood-fired grill, with a selection of small and large plates connected by rich, smoky flavours. Highlights include a Merguez Scotch Egg with harissa mayonnaise, Marinated Baby Chicken with smoked yoghurt, and Grilled Wild Mushrooms, Baby Leek and a confit egg yolk. In a nod to the founders’ French roots, variations of the iconic Frites are the signature of the restaurant, which are hand-cut and twice-cooked, in either beef dripping or vegetable oil. The design of the space is also centred on the expertise of wood-fired cooking, with kitchen counter seating to create a dramatic dining experience for guests and a total of 44 covers inside and 25 outside. Classic bistro style can be seen throughout, combined with contemporary elements, in reflection of the menu. Maxime and Yannis Alary, Co-Founders of Goldies, commented: “After spending a decade in the West End, it’s a special moment for us to open our new concept, Goldies. This key anchor unit on Kingly Court’s ground floor means we will benefit from the dedicated visitors to the foodie heart of Soho, as well as shoppers on Carnaby Street seeking high quality dining as part of their experience. We have carefully curated every detail of the Goldies experience, from the food to the ambiance, and we cannot wait to share it with the visitors who make this area so vibrant. We hope to make Goldies a must-visit destination, like so many of our neighbours who call Kingly Court home.”

Palazzo Talia Boutique Hotel Opens In Rome
Owned by the Federici family, the 26-bed Palazzo Talia has reopened in Rome following a three-year restoration by three design and architecture firms. Public spaces such as the restaurant, bar and wellness spa, as well as the hotel’s signature suite, has been transformed by studiolucaguadagnino. It marks the company’s first hospitality project. Each of the remaining 25 rooms and suites have been individually designed by MIA Home Design Gallery and Laura Feroldi Studio. All rooms feature bespoke and handmade furniture. Chef Marco Coppola oversees the Tramae Restaurant which serves a range of traditional Roman dishes as well as Italian cuisine. Bar Della Musa offers cocktails, champagne and a curated selection of wines. Originally built in the 16th century, the building became the residence of Angelo Maria Colocci, secretary to Pope Leo X de’ Medici, during the Renaissance. In the 17th century, the Palazzo became a home for nobles and high-ranking clergy until it was acquired by Cardinal Tonti. After his death, San Giuseppe Calasanzio, founder of the Piarist Fathers, inherited the property and transformed it into a school for children from poor families. The school eventually became known as the Nobile Collegio del Nazareno, renowned for educating politicians, cardinals and diplomats, before closing its doors in 1999.

Populous Reveals Designs For Aramco’S Khobar Stadium
Populous, a global design firm based in US, has unveiled the designs and the surrounding masterplan for the ambitious stadium project being developed by Saudi oil giant Aramco in Al Khobar in the kingdom’s Eastern Province. Drawing inspiration from Al Khobar’s location on the shores of the Arabian Gulf, Populous has created a dynamic and visually striking stadium exterior that expresses the graceful rotation of waves and the spiral motifs commonly found in nature. The overlapping translucent sails of the façade, delicately curved and proportioned, create a flowing sequence that allows natural light to penetrate the stadium’s interiors through strategically placed openings, said the top designer in a statement. Within the stadium, the spiral form of the building is echoed in the ramps and walkways that lead spectators to the seating bowl, which has been shaped elliptically to minimise the venue’s footprint and optimise natural ventilation. Developed by Populous’ specialist designers, the seating bowl will provide world-class viewing for football, with a compact configuration and uninterrupted views of the pitch from every seat. Aramco Stadium is one of a number of Populous-designed venues included in the official list of potential venues for the 2034 World Cup, as published in the Saudi Arabia bid book released last month. Shireen Hamdan, the Senior Principal and General Manager of Populous KSA, said: “The Aramco Stadium development will create a world-class football venue capable of hosting top-tier international tournaments. The venue’s stunning setting on the shores of the Arabian Gulf has allowed us to develop a distinctive building form that is instantly and uniquely recognisable.”
