On August 7, 2024, the Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso do Sul (Alems) approved a request made by its president, Gerson Claro, to include the construction of an airport in Sidrolândia in the State Aviation Plan.
This initiative, supported by deputy Paulo Corrêa, is seen as essential for enhancing the logistical infrastructure of the municipality, which is currently experiencing significant development and attracting large investments.
The proposed aerodrome, with an estimated cost of R$10 million (EURO 1,6 million), would serve small and medium-sized aircraft, supporting local businesses and contributing to the future Bioceanic Route that will facilitate Brazilian exports to Asia.
