KILLEEN, Texas (Feb. 3, 2026) — Travelers at Killeen Regional Airport (GRK) will soon experience a faster, simpler way to park. Beginning Feb. 1, the airport will remove parking gates and transition to a free-flow parking system powered by Premium Parking’s digital platform, GLIDEPARCS®.
The new system eliminates the need for tickets and gates, allowing drivers to enter and exit parking facilities without stopping. Parking activity will be managed using license plate recognition technology through GLIDE Eye LPR® fixed cameras and handheld devices.
“We’re thrilled to support Killeen Regional Airport in bringing modern, free-flow parking to their community,” said Ben Montgomery, president at Premium Parking. “By removing gates and leveraging our GLIDEPARCS® platform, we are providing a seamless airport arrival and departure experience. Our education-first approach ensures that the transition is easy for every traveler, highlighting convenience over traditional barriers.”
With the removal of gates, the airport’s $10-per-day lost ticket fee will be eliminated. The transition also improves the parking experience for disabled veterans who receive complimentary parking in the Long-Term Parking Garage. Eligible vehicles will no longer be required to present vehicle registration or photo identification upon exit, as the system uses AI-powered image recognition to identify special license plates, including Disabled Veteran plates.
“Killeen Regional Airport is committed to making travel easy, and now we’re making parking easy, too,” said Jarrod Provost, assistant director of aviation. “With Premium Parking’s free-flow solution, travelers will be able to enter and exit without gates or tickets, creating a smoother experience from start to finish.”
The new free-flow system is designed to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and create a more intuitive parking experience for travelers while maintaining the airport’s commitment to accessibility and customer service. All existing parking staff will remain on site to assist travelers during and after the transition.
More information, including step-by-step instructions on how the system works, will be available on the airport’s website prior to launch.
