Terminal 1 at Ben-Gurion Airport will reopen at the end of March following renovations and will initially serve domestic and low-cost international flights. About 25% of Ben-Gurion flights (approximately 1,377 flights in April) will use this terminal, with airlines such as El Al, Wizz Air, Ryanair, Arkia, and Israir operating regular flights. EasyJet will resume flights only in June.
Terminal 1 charges lower taxes and offers basic services, making operations roughly $20 cheaper per passenger compared to Terminal 3. However, airlines indicate that reopening Terminal 1 will not immediately lower fares due to transition costs.
Lufthansa Group is significantly increasing flights to Tel Aviv, nearly doubling weekly services. Wizz Air is restarting flights to Greek islands and expanding other routes, while Air Europa and Aviation Links are also adding or resuming flights to Israel.
