
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has granted Malta-based private aviation company AirX Charter a foreign operator authorization under GACAR Part 129, allowing the carrier to begin on-demand flights within the kingdom.Under the new authorization, AirX will operate flights between airports across Saudi Arabia, targeting growing demand in business aviation and premium tourism.Sulaiman Almuhaimidi, GACA’s EVP for aviation safety and environmental sustainability, says Saudi Arabia’s general aviation sector is experiencing strong growth, driven by rising demand for business and private aviation and supported by the Kingdom’s wider economic transformation.“Welcoming new international operators such as AirX enhances competition, strengthens service quality, and ensures adherence to the highest international aviation safety standards,” he says.Receiving GACA approval marks a “significant milestone” for AirX, says the company's CEO Houssam Hazzoury. “We look forward to delivering world-class private aviation services that align with the kingdom’s aviation ambitions under Vision 2030 and support the continued growth of its dynamic general aviation market,” he says.AirX was founded itn 2011. Its fleet includes, Citation X, Challenger 850, Legacy 600, Lineage 100, as well as Airbus A340 and Boeing 737-700 Boeing Business Jet.It becomes the third executive jet operator authorized for domestic operations in the kingdom, following fellow Maltese-registered carriers VistaJet, which secured approval in August 2025, and Flexjet Operations, which secured approval in December 2025.
