Tertiary Minerals PLC has reported laboratory assay results from four Phase 3 drill holes at Target A1 on its Mushima North Project in Zambia, where it has unearthed further high-grade silver and copper mineralisation.
Results show the high-grade silver and copper in the north of Target A1, and now the company sees the mineralisation footprint at about 450 metres by up to 400 metres, and it remains open to the northwest, south/southeast and at depth.
“We are delighted to report these results from the four holes of our Phase 3 drilling programme conducted at the start of the rainy season late last year. These results include our best intersection of silver-copper mineralisation to date on this project, with 97m at 85 g/t silver equivalent (1.42% copper equivalent) from only 6m depth,” said chief executive Richard Belcher.
Tertiary highlighted an intersection in hole 25TMNRC-043 of 97 metres grading 56 g/t silver, 0.43% copper and 0.19% zinc from 6 metres downhole. It described this as 85 g/t silver equivalent or 1.42% copper equivalent.
Within that interval, the company reported 42 metres at 81 g/t silver and 0.70% copper from 55 metres downhole. It also reported 27 metres at 98 g/t silver and 0.91% copper from 70 metres. It reported 13 metres at 77 g/t silver and 1.46% copper from 84 metres downhole.
Tertiary said the 13-metre section is its best copper drill intersection to date at the project. It said individual metre samples reached up to 3.17% copper.
In hole 25TMNRC-044, the company reported 11 metres at 18 g/t silver and 0.18% copper from 20 metres downhole. It also reported 17 metres at 14 g/t silver and 0.25% copper from 51 metres downhole.
Tertiary said it expects to finalise a JORC Exploration Target for Target A1 in the coming weeks. It said this is intended to provide an estimation range of tonnages and grades and help plan future work.
Belcher added: “The Exploration Target is planned to be released in the coming weeks and will form the basis of future planned programmes to commence at the start of the dry season this year and will support our aim of producing a Maiden Mineral Resource Estimate by the end of 2026.”
