Bluebird Solar, one of India’s fastest-growing solar PV module manufacturers, has announced a major capacity expansion from 1.2 GW to 2.5 GW at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and is expected to be fully operational by October 2025.

This expansion is part of Bluebird Solar’s strategic growth roadmap to meet rising demand driven by India’s clean energy push and key government programs such as the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, PM-KUSUM, and the ongoing emphasis on domestic manufacturing under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

“Our expansion to 2.5 GW is not just about increasing capacity — it’s about scaling impact,” said Mr. Akshay Mittal, Director, Bluebird Solar. “This growth reinforces our commitment to support India’s clean energy transition by delivering world-class solar modules manufactured right here in India. The expanded facility will incorporate advanced AI automation, enhanced quality control systems, and energy-efficient practices to meet the evolving demands of utility-scale and rooftop solar projects. It’s a step forward in strengthening India’s renewable manufacturing ecosystem and fulfilling the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. It will be yet another milestone in our mission to power a cleaner, greener, and energy-secure future for the nation.”

Driving Innovation and Scale

The expanded facility will feature:

Fully automated manufacturing lines

AI-powered quality control systems

Energy-efficient operations aligned with global standards

The facility will be equipped with fully automated lines and advanced quality control systems to meet the highest industry benchmarks. It will continue to produce ALMM, BIS & IEC certified solar PV modules that are trusted by EPC companies, solar developers, and subsidy-driven projects across India.

Contributing to Local and National Growth

The expansion is expected to create over 500 new direct & indirect jobs, contributing to the local economy and supporting India’s broader mission of clean energy employment and infrastructure development.
