“The Power of Siberia gas pipeline has delivered to China the first 100 billion cubic meters of Russian gas out of more than a trillion cubic meters to be supplied under the largest gas contract in the history of the industry. This is just the beginning of a long journey. The contract is in force until mid-2049. In 2027, Russian gas will start to be supplied to China via the second, i.e. Far Eastern, pipeline route.
Our partnership with China is based on mutual trust and the shared aspiration to develop and thrive. As our Chinese colleagues say, the longer the friendship is the stronger it is. The projects like Power of Siberia and the Far Eastern route mean more than supplies of clean energy. They mean a strong bond between our countries and people, as well as a mutually beneficial cooperation for many years to come.”
