Poland President Continues To Fight For A New Stadium For Ruch Chorzów22.08.2024 20:58 source: StadiumDB.com; author: Paulina Skóra Chorzów's mayor, Szymon Michałek, has not given up on the fight for a new stadium for Ruch Chorzów. He sent a letter to Minister of Sport Sławomir Nitras requesting financial assistance from the State Treasury. The letter has already been signed by 80 notable figures, including Jerzy Owsiak, the founder of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. Advertisement Funds for the construction of a new stadium in Chorzów were supposed to come from the state budget under the Program of Investments of Special Importance for Sports - 2023 Edition, amounting to PLN 103,939,024. Although Minister Sławomir Nitras stated a few weeks ago that the government would not support investments in infrastructure for football clubs, the city’s mayor continues to fight. Fans also want to do it, although many choose online entertainment as well, such as online betting, not only for matches in Polish leagues. As reported by Dziennik Zachodni, the publication of the list of beneficiaries in October 2023 did not constitute a formal resolution. This list included Raków Częstochowa and Ruch Chorzów, among others. The program was supposed to guarantee funds for the construction of new stadiums. The Ministry also stated that no formal or substantive evaluation of applications had been made. The sports investment support program has not yet been fully resolved or signed by the current minister. © GMT Chorzów's mayor sent a letter to the minister, arguing that the new stadium on Cicha Street would serve all residents and not just be a sports venue. It would be widely accessible, rather than solely fulfilling commercial purposes. The mayor assured that Chorzów is seeking funding for this investment not only from state sources. According to Dziennik Zachodni, the letter was signed by more than 80 figures from the world of sports and culture. The list is headed by Jerzy Owsiak, with other signatories including Marta Tadla (actress), Wojciech Kuczok (writer), Agata Sitko (powerlifter), Henryk Czich (musician from the band Universe), Błażej Jankowiak (director), and Wojciech Grzyb (a long-time star of Ruch Chorzów). © GMT I still hope I can meet with Minister Nitras. Whether the minister finds time for me – I don’t know, but we must remember one thing: Ruch Chorzów is a part of Polish history, a part of Polish football history, Silesian football history, the mayor said during his latest chat with residents. He was also asked what would happen to the old grandstand of Ruch's stadium: My plan is to initially leave it where it stands. I’d like to start the construction of the stadium from the Bojowników Avenue side, so the grandstand can remain functional for as long as possible. However, the high costs of relocating the grandstand make such a move impossible, and few original parts of the main grandstand remain. Advertisement

Usa Virtual Stadium In Los Angeles Is Going Viral

Usa Virtual Stadium In Los Angeles Is Going Viral22.08.2024 12:33 source: StadiumDB.com; author: Miguel Ciołczyk Garcia A match watched on screen is nothing compared to what is experienced sitting in the stands. But...is it really? Those who have watched Premier League matches from The Dome in Los Angeles are of a different opinion. To say that you can feel like you're in the stadium there doesn't do it justice. It is simply easy to forget that you are not there. Advertisement The English teams are back in the United States again. And by that, we don’t mean the summer tour of Manchester City or Chelsea, but the Premier League matches. Their broadcast in the United States has gone to another level thanks to the Shared Reality technology used by Cosm at The Dome, a three-storey hall with a capacity of 1,500 seats. On the 6,000 m² LED screen, it is possible to watch not only the most exciting Premier League game of the round, but also many shows such as Cirque du Soleil, and sporting events such as NCAA American football matches, tennis and mixed martial arts. Interestingly, the Cosm centre in Los Angeles is located next to SoFi Stadium, the most expensive stadium in the world. The company also has a second headquarters in Dallas. This is what the new quality of watching a match at The Dome looks like.  The footage of the broadcast of the Manchester United - Fulham match (1:0) generated huge interest from internet users and the media. A huge LED screen, a grandstand-like seating arrangement and shots as if from one of the bleacher seats made viewers feel as if they were in the stands at Old Trafford rather than in an entertainment centre 8500 km away from the stadium. The cheapest tickets without guaranteed seating cost $22, while for a comfortable seat and a good view you have to pay between $66 and $132. However, this is still far less than it would cost for round-trip flights and a ticket to a Premier League game. Cosm's customers are clearly delighted, as tickets for the games are sold out two rounds ahead. Advertisement

Algeria Catastrophic Condition Of Nelson Mandela Stadium In Algiers

Algeria Catastrophic Condition Of Nelson Mandela Stadium In Algiers22.08.2024 10:53 source: StadiumDB.com; author: Jakub Ducki Nelson Mandela Stadium scandal in Algiers has exposed serious negligence in the management of the sporting infrastructure, leading to dismissals at the highest levels. The situation exemplifies the problems facing Algerian sport. Advertisement It all started on Sunday, August 18, during a match between MC d'Alger and Watanga FC of Liberia, played in the preliminary round of the African Champions League. Instead of sporting excitement, public attention was focused on the dire state of Nelson Mandela Stadium in Baraka. The facility, which was officially opened only in January 2023, today presents a picture of neglect and degradation. A few days before the match, photos and videos began circulating on the internet showing the disastrous state of the pitch and stands. The dilapidated, yellowed turf and littered, dusty seats shocked fans and sports officials alike. One video, which shows a father trying to clean a seat for his daughter, particularly moved the public. Actions that should have been carried out by managers and stadium staff were neglected. © DZ Stadiums The reaction of the authorities was immediate, but seems to have been motivated mainly by a desire to cover up the problem rather than solve it. On the first weekend after the recordings came to light, the Algerian authorities fired the director of the Mohamed Boudiaf Olympic complex, Ismaïl Mohamed Saïd. The decision came just an hour after Saïd himself fired the first manager of Nelson Mandela Stadium in an attempt to salvage the situation and avoid responsibility for the state of the facility. According to local media reports, the decision to sack Saïd was hastened after it was revealed that the accumulated rubbish in and around the stadium was in such quantities that the company responsible for removing it was unable to cope with the task. The sight of the neglected facility forced the ministry to respond immediately. The situation at Nelson Mandela Stadium is symptomatic of a wider problem of chaotic management of sports facilities in Algeria. The cleaning crew entered the stadium only after the scandal   Advertisement

England Will Manchester United Follow The Model Of Sofi Stadium?

England Will Manchester United Follow The Model Of Sofi Stadium?22.08.2024 21:29 source: StadiumDB.com; author: Paulina Skóra Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has addressed the significant issues with Old Trafford. He has appointed "The Old Trafford Regeneration Task Force" to explore potential solutions, and their initial findings suggest that building a new stadium would be a better option than renovating the existing one. Advertisement World-renowned football expert David Ornstein recently appeared on NBC Sports to share the latest updates on the future of Old Trafford. The idea of staying has many logistical complications, said Ornstein. Maintaining the stadium at the same location and conducting renovations will cost over £1 billion. Meanwhile, building a new venue on the same site as Old Trafford would cost at least £4 billion, and Ratcliffe is leaning toward this option. Of course, this decision is not final, and the United owners could still choose a different direction. © Airviews Photography (cc: by-nd) | Old Trafford Last month, Manchester United played Arsenal in a pre-season friendly at SoFi Stadium in the USA. The home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers is considered one of the best sports venues in the world. It's not just about the stadium itself but also the surrounding area. Mixed-use commercial spaces provide additional revenue streams for the two clubs that are the primary tenants. What impressed me most was how the stadium played a key role in the development of Inglewood, Andy Cole told Sky Sports. I've been coming to Los Angeles for years, and this part of the city was never a place you'd visit as a tourist. You can see the similarities with the opportunities in Manchester. A new or redeveloped Old Trafford could be the centerpiece of revitalizing the surrounding areas. Cole also added that Manchester United fans and all the residents of northern England deserve a truly world-class stadium, and SoFi sets the standards to strive for. © Grzegorz Kaliciak | SoFi Stadium Whether England's SoFi will be built instead of the Wembley of the North remains to be seen. Concrete plans for the future of Manchester United's stadium are still likely a long way off. Advertisement

Spain Tender Announced For The Renovation Of The Stadium In Segovia22.08.2024 13:26 source: StadiumDB.com; author: Paulina Skóra The Public Infrastructure and Environment Company of Castilla y León (SOMACYL) has just announced a new tender aimed at renovating and improving the lighting system at La Albuera Stadium in Segovia. Advertisement The tender, with an initial budget of €606,951.37, includes a range of key improvements to the stadium’s lighting infrastructure. These involve the modernization of the field lighting and the installation of a new functional and emergency lighting system on the old stand, which previously lacked these essential features. Additionally, other upgrades to the stadium’s electrical infrastructure will be implemented to improve its operation and safety. If you too are in need of change and new experiences, check out the offer from Safe Casinos and claim free spins with no deposit. Specifically, the project includes replacing the existing 2500 W metal halide floodlights mounted on 14-meter columns with 1506 W dimmable LED floodlights on 26-meter columns, which will enhance the energy efficiency of the lighting system. Furthermore, several outdated electrical panels in poor condition will be upgraded to meet current regulations, and the old stands will be retrofitted electrically, ensuring proper lighting, emergency systems, and signage in accordance with ITC58 RD 842/2002. © Estadios de España A total of 42 LED projectors with white LED technology (5000 K) and adjustable settings based on the sporting event (training, non-televised football match, televised football match, etc.) will be installed across 4 towers. Here is the detailed work plan: The maximum time frame for completing all activities specified in the contract is 12 weeks. Companies interested in participating in the tender have until August 29 to submit their bids. The Municipal Stadium La Albuera is a football stadium located in the La Albuera district of Segovia, the capital of the province of Castilla with the same name. Since 1978, it has been the official stadium of the football club Gimnástica Segoviana, a local team that plays in group V of the first RFEF league. The stadium is part of the Ciudad Deportiva de La Albuera sports complex, which is owned and managed by the city council. La Albuera was born from the need to renovate the old El Peñascal municipal stadium, which for more than thirty years had served as the home for Gimnástica Segoviana and all local teams but had become outdated and nearly unusable. Australia Penrith Panthers Will Play At Commbank Stadium In 2025 Season21.08.2024 20:55 source: StadiumDB.com; author: Kuba Kowalski The Penrith Panthers have announced that they will be playing eight of their NRL home games at CommBank Stadium in 2025. This move comes as Penrith Stadium undergoes redevelopment, and the club embraces the facilities of the Western Sydney venue. Advertisement With a seating capacity of 30,000, CommBank Stadium promises to bring fans closer to the action, offering a unique experience. In preparation for the 2025 season, the Panthers plan to Pantherise CommBank Stadium, infusing it with their distinctive colors, themes, and the passionate fan culture that has become synonymous with the club. The transition to this new venue will be smooth, with the club ensuring that members have access to premium seating, convenient travel options, and enhanced game day experiences, including improved corporate offerings. Now newcomers will also be able to come to a stadium in their area and see the team in action, especially those that Australian sports are interested in. In addition to the matches at CommBank Stadium, the Panthers have revealed their plans for the remaining four home games in 2025. The season will kick off with a historic opener at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, marking a significant milestone for the club. The team will also play at Glen Willow Regional Sports Complex in Mudgee, Carrington Park in Bathurst, and participate in the Magic Round at Suncorp Stadium. © Bankwest Stadium Panthers Rugby League CEO Matt Cameron expressed his excitement for the upcoming season, highlighting the opportunities that CommBank Stadium offers. 2025 is set to be an exciting year for the club as we open the season in Las Vegas, before hosting a match at Magic Round, playing twice in the Central West and eight games at a world-class stadium in Western Sydney. CommBank Stadium offers an unparalleled rugby league experience with fans close to the action within an electrifying atmosphere, exceptional facilities, and premier corporate facilities. Playing at CommBank Stadium will open up substantial commercial opportunities, further cementing the Panthers’ status as a leading NRL club, Cameron said. Venues NSW CEO Kerrie Mather echoed these sentiments, expressing enthusiasm about hosting the reigning premiers and their fans at CommBank Stadium. The partnership between the Panthers and Venues NSW marks a new chapter for the club, with high expectations for continued on-field success. © Philip Terry Graham (cc: by) Construction of the new football and rugby stadium to replace aged Parramatta Stadium became part of New South Wales' major infrastructure reform back in 2015. This was the first major stadium to undergo reconstruction and the successor hasn't been exactly built on the site of the historical venue, it was moved towards the street, taking out swimming pools at the same time. It now covers 80,000 m2 out of the green Parramatta River bend. In order to design a friendly and welcoming seating bowl, the lower tier of seating (with 15 rows) was lowered below street level, which offers many people access to their seats without climbing any stairs. But climbing is the right word for the upper tier, which holds 20,000 people and rises 26 rows up, becoming the steepest stand ever built in Australia (rake of nearly 34 degrees). Combined with close proximity to the field (5.5m in rugby configuration), this creates a robust, atmospheric cauldron. The west stand, externally clad with wood, might not offer many seats overall but houses a tremendous amount of facilities across 5 levels. This includes hospitality areas on each level, starting from the field club that allows 120 guests to watch players warm up. The biggest single lounge can hold 700 guests and, combined with several smaller halls and 38 boxes the stadium offers some 3,000 premium seats. © Danny J. Palmer (cc: by-nc) West stand aside, the stadium's structure is modest and simple. The lower tier has catering and sanitary facilities on ground level, while the upper tier rises on bare steel columns. 4,500 tons of structural steel was used to erect the stands and on top of it further 2,600 tons of the roof structure were placed. Its size allows not only to cover all spectators, but also to provide shade for pedestrians in direct vicinity of the stadium. Entirely covered with membrane, the stadium's roof lets UV rays through to enable unobstructed grass growth. Most of the sheets are translucent PTFE (23,400 m2), while the inner halo is nearly transparent (4,600 m2). A very rare solution utilized in this project is placement of the main membrane below the primary steel structure rather than on top of it, which defines the stadium's outer appearance. Initially the new home of Western Sydney Wanderers and Parramatta Eels was expected to cost $300 million but ended up with a 360 million price tag. And yet some features advertised initially weren't delivered. This includes LED-illuminated outer mesh which was supposed to wrap the stadium while eventually only adorning the north-eastern corner's rotunda. The north stand was also supposed to have both tiers merge to ensure a better atmosphere, something also not done. Advertisement

Spain New Season, New Rules. Smoking Ban At Atlético Madrid'S Stadium
world of stadiums
Spain New Season, New Rules. Smoking Ban At Atlético Madrid'S Stadium21.08.2024 17:59 source: StadiumDB.com; author: Miguel Ciołczyk Garcia Diego Simeone likes the proverbial smoke, but apparently not the real thing. From now on, smoking will be banned at the Civitas Metropolitano, but the club has designated areas where smoking will be allowed. They have even marked out the minutes of the match when you will be allowed to leave the stands for a cigarette. Advertisement The 11-time Spanish champion has announced that smoking is banned at Cívitas Metropolitano from the 2024/25 season. The reasons for the decision are the growing demand from fans for such a step and concern for the health of all spectators. Smoking is banned not only in the stands, but also on the stairways, corridors, galleries and underground car parks, as well as toilets and rooms; in a word, all spaces inside the Rojiblancos stadium. © Grzegorz Kaliciak / StadiumDB.com However, the club is aware that not everyone will be able to endure the entire match without smoking, so it has designated areas where this can be done. For fans on the third level of the stands, there will be a couple of fully exposed, clearly exposed balconies. The rest of the fans will have to go outside the stadium or to the fan zone. However, this is not as easy as it may seem. To exit the stadium, you have to go through the gates twice, and time is also limited. You can only do so between the 30th and 70th minute of the match. The time interval, including the interval, therefore counts an hour. Breaking the ban will result in expulsion from the stadium and the withdrawal of your pass or ticket. The first club in Spain to introduce a smoking ban in its stadium was FC Barcelona, as moking has been banned at Camp Nou since 2012. In the following years, Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, San Mamés and Mestalla, among others, joined Blaugrana’s facility in the ban. © Grzegorz Kaliciak / StadiumDB.com Advertisement

Usa Pros And Cons Analysis Of New Mls Stadium In Everett
world of stadiums
Usa Pros And Cons Analysis Of New Mls Stadium In Everett21.08.2024 17:30 source: StadiumDB.com; author: Jakub Ducki The construction of a new stadium for the New England Revolution football team has been under intense discussion for the past month. In the article below, we present a SWOT analysis, discussing the opportunities and threats to the project based on recent developments. Advertisement The City of Everett has long struggled with declining commercial revenues, a common challenge for many cities in New England. The impact of remote working and rising inflation is taking a significant toll on local economies. In the face of these difficulties, Mayor Carlo DeMaria points to the construction of a football stadium as a key element in the city's economic recovery. In an interview with WBZ-TV, DeMaria indicated that he is urging legislators to speed up the approval process necessary for the project. The stadium, which would hold 25,000 spectators, was proposed by the Kraft Group, owners of the New England Revolution. The project would host football matches, concerts and other community events, which could significantly increase revenue for the city. The proposed location for the stadium is the site of a former hydroelectric power station, which has stood unused for years. Mayor DeMaria points out that it once generated around $15 million in annual tax revenue. However, the plan to build a stadium has met with opposition from officials in neighbouring Boston and environmental organisations, who raise concerns about potential traffic congestion and the potential for wind energy development in the area. Mayor Everett points out that the stadium would only occupy 9 of the 40 available acres, leaving space for renewable energy development. In response to traffic concerns, DeMaria has unveiled plans to extend the MBTA's Silver Line, build a pedestrian bridge to Assembly Row and ban passenger drop-offs in the vicinity of the stadium. Despite the optimism of the mayor and his team, plans to build the stadium have faced major political obstacles. Wynn Resorts, owners of the Encore Casino, which was supposed to support the project financially, halted plans for expansion in the Lower Broadway area, arguing excessive demands from the city and state. Even more damaging was the failure to pass an economic development bill that would have cleared the way for the stadium to be built. The act included provisions to remove the Designated Port Area (DPA) distinction from the Alford Street site in Everett, which would have allowed the project to proceed. Unfortunately, when the formal, extended legislative session ended on July 31, the bill was not passed. Despite the setback during the last session, Governor Maura Healey expressed hope that legislators would resume discussion of the bill. Healey stressed the importance of the economic development bill, pointing out the need for investments such as cleaning up the power plant site and promoting environmental justice. State Senator Sal DiDomenico took a similar stance, announcing further action on the project. The senator noted that a stadium in Everett would have a positive impact on both the economy and the environment. As part of the proposal, team owner Robert Kraft pledged $100 million to decontaminate the contaminated site. We’ll see what happens next month when they come back into session. Well, we’ll see what happens. They’ve agreed to come back — I asked them to come back - Healey said. Against the backdrop of delays and problems with the project, there has been speculation that Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has been influential in blocking plans for the stadium. Wu has addressed these accusations, expressing her concerns about the logistics of the project and the impact on traffic in Boston. However, she indicated that she supports the idea of building a stadium in or around the city. She added that her administration had not been adequately involved in discussions about the project, raising doubts about its viability. I’d love to get to a point where we understand more of what it is to take a formal position on this particular plan and design. - the mayor added. In response to the allegations, the Kraft Group issued a statement criticising state lawmakers for failing to act, while suggesting that outside influences may have played a role in stopping the project. SWOT is an acronym for four English words: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. A SWOT analysis involves a professional assessment of the data you have in a transparent manner. In this case, we present the analysis in the form of a list: The analysis shows that, despite the numerous risks, the potential benefits of building the stadium are significant for both the club, the community and the environment. Let us hope that those involved in this project fully realise this. Advertisement

New Stadium On Aberdeen Beach - Ambitious Plan Still On The Table With One Condition
world of stadiums
New Stadium On Aberdeen Beach - Ambitious Plan Still On The Table With One Condition20.08.2024 19:58 source: StadiumDB.com; author: Jakub Ducki It was presented as the centrepiece of the waterfront upgrade. As it turns out, realising this plan is not that simple, with finances being the main obstacle. The Aberdeen authorities stress that the project is still on the table, but only on the condition that the club funds its construction itself. Advertisement Alex McLellan, Aberdeen City Council's head of finance, makes it clear that the local authority has no intention of funding the construction of the stadium, estimated to cost £80 million. In his view, any investment in the stadium should come from private funds, not the city's budget. Residents are obviously interested in the matter, as they will be affected by the decision. Many of them would use the stadium, but in addition to such entertainment they choose crypto betting, so they can enjoy top games, fast payouts, and secure gaming. To deliver the stadium, it would require private investment. It was certainly never the plan for the council to spent hundreds of millions of pounds on this and build a football stadium for Aberdeen FC McLellan says. His stance leaves no illusions: if Aberdeen FC wants a new stadium, the club must provide the funding itself. © Aberdeen FC I think that [the Dons stadium] is still on the table, and if the club were willing to come forward with private money for it then we could look at that adds McLellan. Key decisions on the future of the project are expected to be made at a town hall meeting in the coming week. With doubts mounting, the future of the new stadium and the whole waterfront regeneration is coming into question. The new stadium project was part of a wider vision for the transformation of Aberdeen's waterfront from the outset. As part of the second phase of regeneration, not only was a new stadium planned, but also the construction of a new promenade along the waterfront from Beach Boulevard. However, without guaranteed funding, further phases of the project may be put on hold. © Aberdeen FC Opposition councillors argue that the stadium is essential for the whole project to make sense. In 2022, Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce estimated that a new stadium could add up to £20 million a year to the local economy. The club's chairman, Dave Cormack, also promised huge benefits for the community, taking inspiration from the examples of other football clubs around the world. Advertisement
