Work to transform the Departure Lounge at Jersey Airport has now entered its most significant stage, with passengers advised of temporary changes to their journey through the terminal building.

Passengers will now be directed down a new temporary walkway to the Departure Lounge after clearing Security, altering the usual route and introducing a small number of additional waiting areas whilst work continues.

The redevelopment of the Lounge has been funded by Ports of Jersey and forms part of a long-term, ten-year programme of investments at Jersey Airport, which will focus on the upgrade of facilities and improvement of passenger experience.

No flights or check-in operations are expected to be impacted by this phase of work, with all food, drink and retail outlets set to remain open throughout the construction period, despite alternative access routes or locations.

We’re upgrading the Departure Lounge while keeping the airport fully operational, and we’ve worked hard to ensure key services remain open, accessible and easy to find.

Clear signage is in place and additional team members are on hand to support passengers. This is a significant investment in Jersey’s airport and in the first and last impressions we offer to everyone travelling to and from the island.

During this phase of construction work, passengers can expect the following changes:

The current phase of works is currently scheduled to be completed in summer 2026, with the next major phase planned to be delivered in spring 2027 and include the creation of a sit-down dining option, a new bar and a grab-and-go café.
