A series of new nonstop routes from the U.S. and Canada has added fresh capacity into Nassau since the start of the winter 2025-26 season, boosting the destination’s route mix ahead of Routes Americas 2026.
The route additions follow Nassau’s hosting of Routes Americas 2025 and include new services by Air Canada, Delta Air Lines, Breeze Airways and Porter Airlines, alongside frequency increases by WestJet and the resumption of Atlanta service by Frontier Airlines.
Among the new routes launched to Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport in recent months are Air Canada services from Halifax and Ottawa and Delta Air Lines’ flights from Minneapolis. Canadian carrier Porter Airlines has also added three Embraer 195-E2 routes from Toronto Pearson, Ottawa and Montreal.
Additionally, Breeze Airways plans to enter the market in June with flights from Tampa. Operations will be twice a week using Airbus A220s, becoming the fourth international destination served by the carrier.

The recent growth has expanded Nassau’s nonstop network to 48 markets across the U.S., Canada, Latin America and Europe. Growth has been most pronounced in Canada, where seat capacity in February 2026 is up by 121% year on year, OAG Schedules Analyser data shows.
“As the gateway to the Bahamas, our air connectivity strategy continues to be rooted in improving access, reliability and strengthening meaningful relationships with our airline partners,” says Joy Jibrilu, CEO of the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board.
“Since hosting Routes Americas, we have sharpened our focus on strategic markets, increasing connectivity and launching new routes that align with visitor demand and long-term sustainability.”
Jibrilu says hosting the event allowed Nassau to move beyond route discussions and focus on operational and market realities. “A key outcome was the ability to offer attendees a firsthand experience of Nassau & Paradise Island,” she says. “Experiencing the destination in person reinforced our value proposition and supported meaningful, data-driven conversations around future air service.”
The air service gains come against a backdrop of record demand. The Bahamas reported 12.5 million visitor arrivals in 2025, an 11.4% increase year over year, providing a stronger foundation for airlines evaluating new and returning routes to Nassau.
Looking ahead, Nassau’s air service development efforts are focused on sustaining recent gains while selectively pursuing additional international growth. “Our air service development priorities are centered on strengthening our relationships with airline partners while pursuing new market opportunities and preserving the success of existing routes,” Jibrilu adds.
Latin America remains a longer-term focus through continued cooperation with Copa Airlines, while the UK remains a priority market.
