Throughout 2025, the heavy equipment and construction industries America recorded numerous acquisitions of companies and manufacturers.

Here are the five acquisitions that generated the most interest from our online readers throughout this year:

In May, CM Labs Simulations announced it acquired AI Redefined (AIR), a Montreal-based company known for its work in real-time, human-AI collaboration.

The acquisition of AIR supports CM Labs’ vision to stay ahead of the curve while remaining grounded in the real-world needs of operators, trainers and industry leaders.

Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited has announced the acquisitions of Rent All Centre and Skyhigh Platforms in Ontario, and Big Stick Rentals in Alberta.

These strategic additions extend Cooper’s reach in both eastern and western Canada.

Nors Construction Equipment GW Ltd. Is now the Volvo CE dealer for Manitoba, following the acquisition of certain Volvo CE-related assets of Westcon Equipment. The deal closed on January 1.

Westcon has sold and serviced Volvo CE equipment since 2004 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A new Nors location in Winnipeg will offer the full Volvo CE product range, including compact, electric, general production, compaction and rigid hauler products.

Although not officially an acquisition, earlier this month Wacker Neuson SE confirmed it is in discussions regarding a takeover by Doosan Bobcat Inc.

According to a news release, Doosan Bobcat is considering the acquisition of 63 per cent of Wacker Neuson’s share capital from major shareholders and launching a public takeover offer in the form of an all-cash offer to all remaining Wacker Neuson shareholders.

In March, the two French construction equipment groups announced they are joining forces following the Fayat Group’s announcement that it has signed an agreement to acquire Mecalac.

About three months later, Fayat said it had completed the the acquisition of a 100 per cent stake in the Mecalac Group.

Mecalac Group machines are in more than 85 countries. Its line of compact construction equipment is focused on flexibility and process innovation and designed for 3D compactness and optimized attachment and tool carrier.
