International energy consultancy Penspen has been reengaged to update the feasibility study for the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP). Initially conducted by the company in 2006, the updated study represents a key step towards realizing the project.
The updated study will comprise an analysis of the regional gas market, the environmental and social impacts and the economic and financial components. These include cost estimation, legislation, consultation reviews, risk analysis and development of scope of work for the Front-End Engineering Design.
âWe are proud to have been selected to support the next phase of this transformative project, leveraging our extensive experience in cross-country pipeline engineering and development to deliver a sustainable and efficient energy solution,â stated Arun Behl, Sales & Marketing Director (Middle East and Africa), Penspen.
Traversing 4,000 km from Nigeria to Algeria, the TSGP is being developed by the respective national oil companies of Nigeria, Algeria and Niger. The project has a capacity to transport 30 billion cubic meters of gas per year and will strengthen regional trade in Africa.
