The contract award follows a highly competitive international tender process, with the Petrojet-led consortium submitting the most competitive technical and commercial bid—reinforcing its capability to execute large-scale energy projects to global standards.
Strengthening Egypt–Algeria Energy Collaboration
In parallel with the project award, Sonatrach and Petrojet are advancing a joint initiative to deepen industrial cooperation. Both parties are nearing completion of a feasibility study to establish a new Algerian–Egyptian company focused on localizing the manufacturing of static equipment in Algeria.
The proposed venture will produce specialized equipment in compliance with international ASME standards through a phased development approach. Initially targeting the domestic Algerian market, the company is expected to expand its footprint into West Africa over time.
Drawing on more than 40 years of Petrojet’s industry experience, the initiative will also include the development of a fully integrated manufacturing base and the implementation of training programs for Algerian professionals. This effort aims to support technology transfer, enhance local expertise, and strengthen Algeria’s industrial capabilities in the energy sector.
The agreement underscores the growing strategic partnership between Egypt and Algeria, positioning both countries to play a larger role in regional and international energy markets.
