oil-gasVietnam's top gas firm Petrovietnam Gas said on Friday it will ramp up imports of liquefied natural gas over the rest of this year.
It has taken delivery of two LNG cargoes with a total of 60,000 tons from Malaysia and Brunei this month, the company said in a statement.
So far this year, the company has taken delivery of 123,000 tons of LNG, it said.
"The new LNG cargoes are significant at a time when domestic gas supply is declining, while gas demand for power generation is rising during the dry season," Petrovietnam Gas said.
The company has raised the regasification capacity of its Thi Vai LNG terminal to 288 tons per hour, it said.
