Delivers Advanced Impact Protection, Faster Installation, and Lower Maintenance for Modern Roadway Safety

TrafFix Devices

, a leading manufacturer and supplier of traffic control devices and crash attenuation products, is proud to introduce the Delta TL-2+ Crash Cushion, a revolutionary advancement in traffic safety technology and the first TL-2 rated non-gating redirective crash cushion to pass MASH testing at 50MPH. Designed to exceed industry standards, the Delta TL-2+ delivers superior protection at higher speeds, making it ideal for use on on-ramps, roadways with a posted speed of up to 50mph, urban roadways, and other environments where traditional TL-2 cushions may fall short.

The Delta TL-2+ incorporates a non-gating, redirective design that ensures safe redirection of errant vehicles without allowing passage through the cushion. Every unit ships fully assembled, reducing on-site labor requirements and minimizing worker exposure to live traffic. Enhancing its value even further, the system comes equipped with the Sentinel Impact Tracker, which includes one year of free monitoring and provides immediate post-impact alerts and GPS-based location notifications to facilitate rapid response and reduce the risk of secondary incidents.

Interchangeable components with the Delta TL-3 system, excluding the track, allow for simplified maintenance and reduced inventory demands. The patented attenuation system, which utilizes Thrie-Beam panels and tear bolts, ensures controlled deformation and highly efficient energy absorption during impacts. The Delta TL-2+ also completely eliminates the need for complex mechanical components such as hydraulic cylinders, cartridges, cables, pulleys, or tension bars, which significantly reduces long-term maintenance and increases system reliability.

Despite its powerful performance, the Delta TL-2+ is lightweight and compact, weighing approximately 1,460 pounds and measuring about 13 feet in length. This design allows for easier handling and transport, enabling up to 27 fully assembled units to be shipped on a single 48-foot flatbed trailer. The compact footprint also saves valuable roadside space while delivering the same high-level crash attenuation performance found in much larger systems.

Installation is fast and straightforward. requiring only: place, drill, and install epoxy anchors, torque anchors. Move one diaphragm into position. Install nose module and object marker, making the Delta TL-2+ one of the easiest and safest systems to install on today’s roadways.

Installation is fast and straightforward, requiring only a few steps: place the Delta TL-2+, drill, install the epoxy anchors, and torque the anchors. Finally, move one diaphragm into position, then install the nose module and object marker. The Delta TL-2+ is one of the easiest and safest systems to install on today’s roadways.

The system can be securely mounted on either concrete or asphalt using just 27 anchor bolts.

The complimentary Sentinel system not only provides real-time impact alerts but also supports intelligent asset management by improving the speed and efficiency of post-impact repairs.
