Axpo and R.Power have signed an agreement for the optimisation of a 300 MW/1,200 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Dzięgielewo, Poland. The agreement will cover the full scope of optimisation services for the project from the start of commercial operations through the end of 2038. The agreement will commence from the start of commercial operations and remain in effect through the end of 2038.

In March 2026, Axpo and McDonald’s entered into a ten-year power purchase agreement for the supply of up to 83 GWh of solar energy annually. The electricity will be sourced from Axpo’s newly developed solar complex located in the municipalities of Villadangos del Páramo and Cimanes del Tejar, in the northwestern province of León. It is a 200 MWp facility consisting of four photovoltaic plants, each with a capacity of 50 MWp.

In November 2025, Axpo finished constructing a 200 MWp solar complex in León province in Spain, comprising four 50 MWp solar plants located across Villadangos del Páramo and Cimanes de Tejar. The Vilecha complex spans more than 360 hectares and is scheduled to begin supplying electricity to Spain’s national grid by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
