Enercon and RBI Raiffeisen Bauträger- und Immobilien have signed a contract for the supply and installation of 25 wind turbines with a total capacity of 175MW at a wind project in Lorup, Germany.

The agreement features Enercon’s E-175 EP5 E2 turbines, which will be distributed across three separate sites in the region.

The project will see nine turbines installed at Mammoor, with a combined capacity of 63MW; 12 at Hassmoor totalling 84MW; and four at Glümmel amounting to 28MW. Each turbine will have a hub height of 162m.

The scope of the scheme also includes the construction of a substation and the necessary foundation works.

According to information provided, construction is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2027.

The development follows a recent repowering project in 2024/25 in which 17 older turbines at the site were replaced by ten modern units. Enercon and RBI have indicated that the current contract builds directly on this earlier effort.

The companies expect the 175MW capacity to make a notable contribution to the expansion of renewable energy in the region.

RBI Raiffeisen Bauträger- und Immobilien managing director Alexander Hackmann said: “ENERCON’s strong performance has convinced us that we have the right partner at our side for the next phase of expansion.”

Enercon announced plans in May to open a rotor blade manufacturing facility for its E-175 EP5 E2 model in Bergama, Izmir Province, Türkiye, as part of its strategy to expand internationally.

The Bergama site will have the capacity to produce up to 150 rotor blade sets per year, primarily serving the Turkish market and also supplying wind farms in eastern and southern Europe.
