Essar Renewables has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to invest INR 20,000 crore in developing 4 GW of renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and battery storage facilities across Kutch, Jamnagar, and Devbhumi Dwarka districts of Gujarat.
The MoU was exchanged during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (North Gujarat) held at Mehsana, Gujarat.
The signing took place in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi and was represented by Ankur Kumar, CEO, Essar Renewables. The MoU is aligned with the state’s focus on building a green energy ecosystem for energy independence, aligned with the vision of Viksit Gujarat – Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
Essar Renewables focuses on solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects, with plans to develop over 8 GW of capacity within five years. The company aims to expand its renewable portfolio through innovation and strategic partnerships.
