Hero Future Energies has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Andhra Pradesh to develop 4 GW of renewable energy projects across Ananthapuramu, Kurnool, and Kadapa districts.
The MoU was announced during the AP Govt–Confederation of Indian Industry partnership summit in Visakhapatnam and entails a proposed investment of Rs 300 billion.
The renewable energy projects will be implemented in a phased manner by leveraging HFE’s capabilities in advanced energy technologies and project design.
As per the MoU, state agencies including the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh and the AP Economic Development Board will support the project by expediting clearances and ensuring inter-departmental coordination.

Europe’S Energy Storage Capacity On Track To Pass 100 GwFrom ESS News
The European Union, the United Kingdom, Norway, and Switzerland together are expected to reach 100 GW of installed energy storage later this month, according to new analysis by LCP Delta and Energy Storage Europe.
Since 2020, Europe’s energy storage sector has grown rapidly, with different technologies progressing at varying speeds. Pumped hydro remains the largest contributor, accounting for 50.6 GW of installed capacity, including 500 MW added this year in Belgium and Austria. Meanwhile, battery storage has expanded even faster, adding more than 4 GW of utility-scale projects in 2025 alone, according to the analysis.

Europe Set To Hit 100 Gw Of Energy Storage, With More Than 115 Percent Growth Expected By 2030This milestone represents enough capacity to meet the peak electricity demand of Germany and the Netherlands. With storage capacity forecast to grow by a further 115 percent by 2030, this will play a crucial role in Europe’s energy transition, creating more space for renewables on the grid.
Since 2020, energy storage in Europe has experienced rapid growth, with each technology advancing at its own pace. Pumped-hydro storage (PHS) holds the largest share of installed capacity, at 50.6 GW, including 500 MW added this year in Belgium and Austria. Battery storage has expanded more rapidly, with over 4 GW of new utility-scale capacity in 2025 alone.
Commercial and industrial (C&I) storage has grown steadily this year as businesses look to cut energy costs, improve efficiency, and make better use of their renewable energy. Meanwhile, residential battery sales, after significant growth driven by early-2020 subsidies, are now stabilising following their 2022–2023 peak. With costs continuing to fall and targeted schemes in place, several countries are maintaining steady progress.
LCP Delta and Energy Storage Europe believe the energy storage industry is only just getting started and will continue to make a substantial contribution to Europe’s energy transition.
They expect the following:
Energy storage will reach beyond 215 GW by 2030 – with battery storage alone exceeding 160 GW.
By the end of the decade, storage will be deployed at a rate of 20-25GW per year, which is more than 20 times the rate of installation in the 2020s.
Utility-scale energy storage to see strong growth, supported by improving economics, targeted auctions, and other support schemes across countries.
Residential battery sales are expected to recover from 2027, supported by a rebounding PV market, rising electrification of homes and transport, dynamic tariffs, and new financing models.
C&I storage to become increasingly mainstream, with policy, revenue streams, grid rules, and tariffs shaping deployment.
“Reaching 100 GW of installed energy storage across Europe is a key moment for the market” said Silvestros Vlachopoulos, Energy Storage Research Lead at LCP Delta. “It not only unlocks more space for renewables on the grid today but sets the stage for even faster growth in the coming years. Keeping investors and developers engaged will be essential to scaling projects and providing the flexibility needed for Europe’s 2030 targets.”

Inoxap To Supply Nitrogen For Grew Energy’S 3 Gw Solar Manufacturing PlantINOX Air Products (INOXAP) has inked a long-term on-site gas supply agreement with Grew Energy Private Limited for the latter’s 3 GW solar PV cell manufacturing facility in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh. As part of the arrangement, INOXAP will provide ultra-high purity nitrogen to meet the precision manufacturing needs of Grew Energy’s solar cell production. Additionally, the company will establish a dedicated pipeline linking its existing air separation unit in Narmadapuram to the Grew Energy facility.
Earlier in December 2024, Grew Energy announced plans to supply 500 MW of solar modules for Jindal Renewables’ solar power project in Rajasthan.
Furthermore, in May 2025, Asahi India Glass Limited signed a 20-year offtake agreement with INOXAP for the supply of green hydrogen to AIS’s new float glass facility in Soniyana, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan.

Frv Targets Uk Energy Expansion With 1.8 Gw Of Solar And Bess Projects Submitted To Neso’S Gate 2 Connection ReformFotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV), a leading developer of sustainable energy solutions and part of Jameel Energy, has submitted a portfolio of 1.8 GW of fully permitted renewable and battery energy storage projects to the UK’s Gate 2 window under NESO’s Connection Reform process. The submission was made through FRV’s majority-owned joint venture platform, FRV Powertek, with the projects seeking advanced connection dates before 2030, ranging from 2026 to 2029.
The portfolio features a mix of solar plants and battery energy storage systems (BESS), reinforcing FRV’s position as a major player in the UK energy sector. Among the most notable projects are the Bicker Fen (400 MW), Stocking Pelham (400 MW), Stow Manor (400 MW), Ansty (200 MW), and Maes Melin (200 MW) BESS projects. In addition, the Malice Farm project will combine 50 MW of solar generation with storage, marking a further step in integrating hybrid and flexible solutions. The portfolio also includes the Hollybush (50 MW / 200 MWh) and Dunbar (50 MW / 200 MWh) projects, each with protected connection dates in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
This extensive pipeline strengthens FRV’s strategic presence in the United Kingdom, the country where the company inaugurated its first global energy storage plant, Holes Bay, in 2020. Since then, FRV has successfully brought three additional facilities into operation — Holes Bay, Contego, and Clay Tye — achieving a total operational capacity of 140 MW / 280 MWh.

Jakson Group has started work on the first phase of its 6 GW integrated solar ingot-to-module manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh, India. The foundation stone for the facility was recently laid by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at the 113.5-acre project site in Maksi, Ujjain District.
The facility, to be built with an investment of more than INR 80 billion ($903 million), is described as the largest solar manufacturing initiative in Madhya Pradesh.
In Phase I, Jakson will establish a 3 GW solar cell line and a 4 GW module line, with backward integration into ingot and wafer production in later phases. The project aims to build a broader solar manufacturing ecosystem in the state by supporting supply chain and ancillary industry growth.
“[The project] reaffirms the success of our progressive and investor-friendly policies. The solar manufacturing hub at Maksi will create skilled jobs for our youth and position our state as the manufacturing and logistics center of India’s clean energy transition,” said Dr. Mohan Yadav, a Madhya Pradesh government official. “It reflects Madhya Pradesh’s strength as a growth-focused state with skilled talent and robust infrastructure, while advancing the nation’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat [self-reliant India].”
Jakson Group already has a presence in the state through a 150-thousand-liters-per-day grain-based ethanol manufacturing plant in Balaghat.

Ferc Oks Nrg’S 19 Gw Purchase Of Ls Power Gas-Fired, Demand Response AssetsThe Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Friday approved NRG Energy’s plan to buy 12.9 GW in gas-fired power plants, and a demand response company from LS Power in a roughly $12 billion deal, saying it wouldn’t hurt market competition.
FERC rejected calls by the PJM Interconnection’s market monitor to impose conditions on NRG designed to prevent it from exerting market power in PJM’s energy and capacity markets. Monitoring Analytics failed to show that NRG would be able to influence market prices after the deal is completed, FERC said.
Under the deal, NRG’s capacity in PJM would jump to 9.5 GW from 2.1 GW and NRG would own 2.2 GW in New York, up from 1.2 GW, according to the companies’ application at FERC. The Houston-based independent power producer will also acquire CPower, a commercial and industrial virtual power plant platform with 6 GW of capacity under contract, including about 4 GW in PJM, according to an investor presentation.
Once complete, the deal would roughly double NRG’s generating fleet. Besides the assets in PJM and New York, the transaction includes three power plants in Texas totaling nearly 2,060 MW and two power plants in New England totaling 940 MW.
NRG contends the U.S. power markets are in an “unprecedented supercycle,” after about 15 years of little demand growth. At the same time, new gas-fired generation generally cannot come online until the 2030s, partly due to supply chain and labor constraints as well as regulatory bottlenecks, according to the company.
NRG and LS Power expect to close the deal early next year. The transaction must be approved by the New York State Public Service Commission. As part of the deal, LS Power will receive about 11% of NRG’s outstanding stock and $6.4 billion in cash. NRG will assume about $3.2 billion in debt from LS Power.
The pending transaction follows NRG’s early-May purchase of Rockland Capital’s 738-MW stake in six gas-fired power plants in Texas for $560 million.
Separately, FERC on Friday approved LS Power’s planned purchase of BP Wind Energy North America’s 1.3-GW wind fleet in seven states. Power from the wind farms is under contract to more than 15 offtakers, according to the companies.
The wind farms are in Indiana, Kansas, South Dakota, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Hawaii and Idaho.
Terms of the mid-July deal weren’t announced. As of Sept. 30, the carrying amount of the wind assets was $570 million, with associated liabilities of $39 million, London-based BP said in a Nov. 4 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
After the deal closes — expected this year — LS Power’s Clearlight Energy will own about 4.3 GW in solar, wind and energy storage assets, according to the company.

Nrg Aims For 2026 Next Step In 5.4-Gw Gas Deal With Ge Vernova, KiewitNRG Energy expects to announce a data center agreement in 2026 associated with new natural gas development in its partnership with GE Vernova and Kiewit, the company’s CEO, Lawrence Coben, said in a Nov. 6 earnings call.
The first step of that joint venture is to start work on four gas projects totaling around 5.4 GW for the ERCOT and PJM markets. During the call, Coben said a data center agreement is set to be announced sometime next year, but he declined to pin down an exact month or quarter for the announcement.
“As far as [GE Vernova] goes, in this Kiewit partnership, did you have a certain time frame that you need to move some of this equipment — use it or lose it, if you will?” asked Jefferies analyst Julien Dumoulin-Smith.
Coben said the company hasn’t disclosed a time frame yet, but added, “I'm very confident that we're going to meet all of the timelines that are required under that agreement.”
NRG, GE Vernova and Kiewit plan to have 1.2 GW of combined-cycle gas turbines in service by 2029, another 1.2 GW in service by 2030, and an additional 3 GW brought online from 2030 to 2032. Development activities are in progress across all sites, the company said.
NRG is also anticipating the closure of its deal to acquire 19 GW of assets from LS Power in the first quarter next year for roughly $12 billion. The assets include a demand-response company and around 12.9 GW of gas-fired power plant capacity. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved the plan on Friday.
On the call, NRG also provided updates on resources it is developing in Texas. In September, NRG “entered into a $562 million loan agreement with the Public Utility Commission of Texas ... for a low-interest rate loan at 3%” to support development of the 689-MW Cedar Bayou generation facility, the company said.
In response to an analyst question about NRG’s priorities within PJM, as opposed to ERCOT, Coben said the company “will really accelerate those efforts, of course, once [the LS acquisition] closes. Because once we own the generation assets there, that will really vault us into being a significant player. But there is no grass growing under our feet there in the meantime.”
Across PJM and ERCOT, NRG has expanded its data center customer portfolio with “150 MW of new premium long-term power agreements, bringing total contracted capacity to 445 MW,” Coben said.
Coben noted that total electricity consumption in Texas has increased “nearly 30% over the past five years, driven by residential, commercial and industrial demand, as electrification and onshoring of manufacturing accelerate. Data center development usage remains early, with ramp schedules expected to add meaningful capacity over the next several years.”
The peak load outlook for ERCOT is anticipated to exceed current total capacity by 2028 and continue rising, according to a graph in NRG’s earnings presentation, with a 28 GW gap between current capacity and peak load projected for 2030.

26 Gw Drives Change In Us PowerUSA: The United States added nearly 26 GW of new electric generating capacity between January and August 2025, according to the latest Energy Infrastructure Update by Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). This marks a notable increase from roughly 23 GW installed during the same period in 2024 and reflects a power sector undergoing rapid change.
Solar accounted for the largest share of new additions, with 19.09 GW installed across 505 units. The growth is supported by lower photovoltaic costs, improved supply chains and continued investment encouraged by federal incentives. Large projects, including a 517-MW solar and storage facility in Texas and a 280-MW project in Indiana, illustrate how development is expanding beyond traditional solar regions. The rise from 15 GW of solar additions in 2024 to more than 19 GW in 2025 suggests a maturing sector benefiting from faster interconnection processes in several markets.
Wind energy also showed steady progress. The United States added 3.78 GW of new wind capacity from 27 projects, compared with 2.78 GW in the same period last year. Texas remains a key contributor, supported by modern turbine technologies that improve efficiency and reduce maintenance needs. Wind continues to complement solar by providing output during periods when solar generation is lower.
Natural gas additions totalled 3.10 GW from 61 units. Although a smaller share of total new capacity, gas-fired facilities remain important for meeting peak demand and supplying flexible generation. Recent additions, such as projects in Indiana, North Dakota and Texas, reflect a shift toward smaller, fast-responding units rather than large baseload plants.
Looking ahead, FERC expects around 136 GW of “high probability” new capacity through August 2028. Renewables are projected to supply most of this growth, with natural gas remaining a secondary but strategic resource. As renewable deployment accelerates, the ability of the transmission system to integrate new capacity is becoming an increasingly central challenge for planners and regulators.
