The Kyrgyz Ministry of Energy has signed an investment agreement with RECA and Rox Energy Global, two Vietnamese companies, to build and operate a 1.9 GW solar plant in the Kyzyl-Oruk village of the Toru-Aigyr rural district of the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan. The project is currently at the start-up stage, and the completion date is 2027. The project will be implemented with foreign investment.
Kyrgyzstan, whose installed capacity (5 GW) is dominated by hydro (3.6 GW) and coal (around 650 MW), has currently no operational solar plants.
