powerplantUSA, Utah: LS Electric is investing $168 M (250 billion won) to expand its switchgear manufacturing facility in Utah, aiming to triple production capacity by 2030 and boost its footprint in North America.
The company currently operates two US switchgear plants, located in Utah and Texas. The expansion project has also qualified for property tax incentives from the Utah Inland Port Authority.
Last year, LS Electric announced plans for $235.4 M (350 billion won) in US investments to build a fully localised value chain covering sales, planning, production and services.
A company spokesperson said the Utah expansion will help meet rising domestic demand for switchgear, particularly from the fast-growing data centre sector, ensuring faster delivery and enhanced service for North American customers.
