As first highlighted by OWJ in March 2026, the disposals see the vessels acquired by North Star, a Partners Group portfolio company, and Norwind, an affiliate of Navigare Capital Partners.

The deals to sell the vessels were first announced in March by Wilhelmsen New Energy, a firm controlled by Wilh Wilhelmsen Holding, which indirectly owns 37.76% of the share capital of Edda Wind. The Norwegian shipowner is owned by Wilh Wilhelmsen Holding and companies controlled by leading shipowners John Fredriksen and Idan Ofer.

In line with the agreed transaction terms, one vessel will remain under the ownership of Edda Wind until certain conditions precedent are satisfied later in the year, which is anticipated in Q4 2026.

North Star has acquired four SOVs from Edda Wind, taking its offshore wind fleet to 14 vessels. The vessels are currently deployed on offshore wind contracts, and have provided North Star with access to high-specification capacity that enhances the company’s flexibility in meeting customer needs across key European markets. North Star has acquired Goelo Enabler, Boreas Enabler, Nordri Enabler, and Sudri Enabler, together with all associated charter parties.

North Star chief executive Gitte Gard Talmo said, “Bringing these SOVs into our fleet broadens our customer offering, strengthens our platform and reinforces our presence in key European markets.”

The acquisition of six CSOVs by Navigare Capital is its largest transaction to date and sees the vessels join seven CSOVs already owned by Navigare Capital, bringing the company’s total owned fleet in this segment to 13 vessels. All vessels will be operated by Norwind Offshore under the existing commercial and technical management framework.

Navigare Capital founding partner Stig Duus Enslev said the company’s belief in the offshore wind market is “unwavering” and described the long-term fundamentals of the offshore wind sector as “very positive.”

The vessels acquired by Navigare Capital are believed to include Austri Enabler, Monsoon Enabler and Vestri Enabler, along with three newbuilds.
