Railtel Wins Rs. 455 Crore Kavach Contract From West Central Railway To Boost Rail Safety In Jabalpur Division

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has secured a Rs. 454.94 crore contract from West Central Railway to deploy the indigenous Kavach safety system across 1,067 RKM in the Jabalpur Division. The project covers several critical high-density corridors, including some of the busiest and most strategically important routes in the division. It strengthens railway safety and modernization efforts while advancing the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision through indigenous technology.

Introduction:

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Railways, has secured a prestigious Rs. 454.94 crore (including GST) work order from West Central Railway for the implementation of the indigenous Kavach Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system.

The contract involves survey, design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of Trackside Kavach Systems across 1,067 route kilometres (RKM) in the Jabalpur Division. The project will be executed under EPC mode and is scheduled for completion by 24 September 2028, within a 960-day timeline.

The Letter of Acceptance (LoA) has been issued by Dy. CSTE/Project/JBP, West Central Railway.
