The
Short Line Safety Institute
has introduced two new resources to help railroads develop or improve their safety action plans (SAPs).
SLSI’s new resources provide an overview of SAPs and offer guidance to railroads seeking to create a new plan or revise an existing one, according to an SLSI press release. One resource is a new
SAP webpage
, where short lines can learn the definition, purpose and key components of an SAP. The webpage also links to two versions of an SAP template.
The second new resource is a
webinar
that discloses the benefits of having an SAP and how to develop one.
For railroads needing additional technical support, SLSI staff is available to provide hands-on assistance regarding any aspect of SAP planning and creation.
