However, a recent assessment found the stadium to be in “average or below average condition” compared to similar venues, citing a long list of deferred upgrades. Additionally, if the Texans opt for premium enhancements, the price tag could rival that of constructing an entirely new stadium.

Additionally, the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority is servicing $1 billion in bonds for NRG Stadium, Daikin Park, and the Toyota Center, with a projected payoff date of 2056. Given these financial constraints, funding a new stadium could prove difficult.
