US-based power management company Eaton Corporation has commenced construction on its ₹200 crore facility in Sholinganallur, Chennai. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin officially launched the project on Friday, following a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Eaton and the state government six months ago.
The MoU was formalized in September 2024 during Stalin’s visit to the US, where he was accompanied by Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa and other officials. The upcoming 1 lakh sq ft facility is expected to generate 500 jobs, according to an official release.
Eaton stated that the Sholinganallur expansion will support its Crouse-Hinds and B-Line business, which focuses on sustainable and innovative power management solutions for harsh and hazardous environments. The facility will also strengthen Eaton’s capabilities in digitalization, electrification, and energy transition, aligning with its global sustainability and innovation goals.
