water(UI) — Pennsylvania regulators have advanced a broad slate of permits tied to underground infrastructure projects, including pipelines, water systems, wetlands crossings and utility construction, according to new notices published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
The actions span multiple agencies and include applications and draft permits covering natural gas pipelines, water and wastewater systems, box culvert rehabilitation, stream crossings and wetland impacts across the state. Several projects involve subsurface construction methods such as utility trenching, sliplining, culvert rehabilitation and underground pipeline installation.
Among the filings are permits tied to public water supply upgrades, sanitary and stormwater infrastructure, and pipeline projects requiring stream and wetland crossings under state and federal environmental laws. Notices also outline proposed construction impacts, mitigation measures and public comment periods tied to underground and water-related work.
State agencies emphasized that many of the projects involve limited or temporary impacts to streams and wetlands, with conditions designed to minimize disruption during construction. Several permits remain open for public comment before final determinations are issued, in line with Pennsylvania’s regulatory review process.
