Works to upgrade the existing wastewater pumping station at Loughbollard were delivered as part of Uisce Éireann’s national Growth and Development Programme. The upgrades have strengthened performance in the existing network and ensured the infrastructure can meet the needs of a growing community.

Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne, TD, welcomed the completion of the project:

“This is positive news for the community of Clane. Public water and wastewater services are essential to facilitating housing delivery as reflected in our new Housing Action Plan, Delivering Homes, Building Communities. Continued investment is also essential to sustain and improve existing wastewater infrastructure in local communities. Completion of this project provides critical capacity to enable new homes in Kildare and serve the needs of the existing community.”

Speaking on the project, Uisce Éireann’s Padraic Fitzgerald said:

“We are delighted to have delivered these works for the community in Clane. These works have increased the capacity of the wastewater infrastructure, facilitating social and economic growth, including planned residential development. We would like to thank the community for their cooperation while we completed these necessary upgrades.”

Coffey Construction carried out the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
