Saudi Arabia continues to redefine global skylines with Rise Tower, a 2km-high skyscraper set to be the tallest in the world. Part of the ambitious North Pole development in Riyadh and designed by Foster + Partners, the tower will surpass both Burj Khalifa and the upcoming Jeddah Tower. As Vision 2030 edges closer, the project signals another bold step in the kingdom’s transformation, with bidding for its consultancy contract now underway.

The Public Investment Fund (PIF) has formally called on international contracting firms to submit bids for the project management role on the Rise Tower development, which carries an estimated cost of $5 bn (SAR 18.75 bn). The tower will stand as the centrepiece of the Central Business District (CBD) in North Riyadh.

The North Pole is poised to become Riyadh’s next major economic hub, spanning 306 sq km and envisioned as a fully integrated city blending residential, commercial, and industrial zones. At its heart stands the Rise Tower—a landmark development set to become a global destination for tourism and business alike.

Strategically located near Expo 2030 and the New Murabba, the tower will feature luxury hotels, entertainment venues, fine dining, and more. The wider city will incorporate cutting-edge infrastructure including a high-speed metro system, self-driving vehicles, and a commitment to renewable energy. With its record-breaking height and future-forward design, Rise Tower aims to redefine the skyline and set new benchmarks in sustainable urban planning and vertical architecture.
