Aeropuertos Argentina is investing more than 100 million USD at Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires to strengthen operational efficiency, safety, and passenger services, while also expanding cargo capabilities.

The wide-ranging works will focus largely on airside infrastructure, while also delivering improvements to passenger facilities and logistics operations.

One of the most significant projects will be the construction of a new aircraft apron, known as Platform Golf, which will provide parking and operating space for seven narrow-body aircraft. The apron will include dedicated ramp space designed to support higher traffic levels and improve ground handling efficiency.

The plan also includes the rehabilitation of the airport’s secondary runway (17–35) and the intersection with the main runway (11–29). These works are intended to enhance operational capacity and ensure that the airport’s infrastructure can support future traffic growth.

The programme has been developed in coordination with the national aviation regulator, Organismo Regulador del Sistema Nacional de Aeropuertos (ORSNA). Additional works include the refurbishment of the runway lighting system, repaving of Taxiway Alfa and the construction of new maintenance modules to support ramp operations.

Sustainability measures also form part of the investment. A new renewable energy supply system will be introduced to power five aircraft stands, while a new reverse-osmosis water treatment plant will be installed to process all water used at the airport.

On the landside, the domestic arrivals terminal will be expanded by 1,200 square metres. The project will add five new boarding gates, increasing the total to 12, and create a 3,500-square-metre pre-boarding area that will include a new VIP lounge, additional food and beverage outlets and a dedicated children’s space.

The airport will also modernise its airline terminal operating systems. More than 1,700 devices will be replaced or upgraded, including check-in computers, gate systems, self check-in kiosks, self bag-drop units, security checkpoint equipment, display monitors and passport readers. The new systems will be capable of supporting biometric technologies already used in immigration procedures.

In the cargo sector, the airport’s logistics division Aeropuertos Argentina Cargas plans to build a 12,000-square-metre single courier terminal. The project also includes the expansion of the temperature-controlled export area for perishable goods from 4,500 square metres to almost 7,000 square metres. A new internal road connection to the Ricchieri Highway will also be developed to improve traffic circulation within the airport complex.

The works follow a series of improvements completed in 2025, including the expansion of the domestic boarding area, the introduction of new dining and service facilities, the opening of a dedicated Calm Room, upgrades to inspection and security areas, a new premium VIPClub lounge and a dedicated car rental terminal.
