
Learn the essentials of glass at the Glass Expo Hawaii™ 2026 (GEH) Pre-Session Workshop with Bill Lingnell on Feb. 4, 2026, from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
Glass 101 is designed for anyone working in the glass industry for less than seven years or those who work in and “around” glass and want more knowledge about glass as a material. What are the different types, and how are they mainly used? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each? You’ll come away from this session speaking “glass” like a native. This class explains scientific concepts in down-to-earth language. A robust question-and-answer session will also be held.
, a noted authority in the field, is an engineering consultant and owner of Lingnell Consulting Services. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Ohio University and a Master’s in Engineering Sciences from the University of Toledo. He has been active in numerous glass industry committees and standards organizations for many years.
