Dyno Nobel
introduced the newest addition to its electronic initiation offering: the
Navus handheld blaster
.
According to Dyno Nobel, Navus is a lightweight, portable unit allowing operations to safely and reliably initiate blasts. Weighing 1.3 lbs., Navus can be carried anywhere on-site. It supports up to 1.6 miles of harness wire for extended setups in surface and underground applications.
Dyno Nobel says Navus is an ideal solution to initiate Nonel rounds when used with Dyno Nobel’s electronic DriftShot starters underground. DriftShot starters eliminate stray currents, radiofrequency interference and static discharge.
Together, the company says Navus and DriftShot provide greater safety, efficiency and control to empower operations to achieve superior blasting outcomes.
For operations switching from Nonel detonators to electronic detonators, Dyno Nobel says Navus facilitates a smooth transition with a design engineered for simplicity in the field. Navus can improve fragmentation and vibration while lowering downstream costs through the combination of timing accuracy and precision of electronic detonators.
“Navus gives operations the power and performance of electronic initiation without the need for a large-scale system,” says Dirk Van Soelen, group technology officer at Dyno Nobel. “Its light, compact form gives blasters what they need for safe, reliable and efficient blasting – right in the palm of their hand.”
Navus can be used with Dyno Nobel’s full range of electronic detonators – including the shock-resistant DigiShot XR series.
