Deep Yellow has announced Gillian Swaby has resigned as executive director, with Greg Field commencing his role as managing director and chief executive.
Swaby joined the uranium explorer in 2005 and become an executive director in 2016. During her tenure, Swaby played a “key role in securing and advancing the company’s flagship uranium development opportunities, Tumas and Mulga Rock”.
“I would like to thank Gill for her 20 years of service to Deep Yellow, during which time she has made a profound, positive impact on the company and helped to position Deep Yellow as a leading ASX-listed uranium stock,” non-executive director Chris Salisbury said.
Greg Field, announced as managing director last year, brings to the role over 25 years’ experience across the global resources sector with a clear strategy to advance the company’s uranium portfolio towards production and position the company as a long-term supplier to the global nuclear fuel market.
Field has previously overseen projects with Rio Tinto and Resolution Copper, based out of the US and Canada and began his career in South Africa – where Deep Yellow’s Tumas uranium project is located.
“I believe uranium has a key role to play in the global transition to clean energy, and Deep Yellow is uniquely positioned to contribute to that shift. I have been impressed by the depth of experience within the Deep Yellow team and the progress achieved on the Tumas Project,” Field said at the time of his appointment.
Deep Yellow also operates the Alligator River project based in the Northern Territory – defined as the largest granted uranium exploration package in the world class Alligator River uranium province.
The potential of Alligator River is demonstrated by the resources of the nearby Jabiluka and Ranger deposits providing over 750 million pounds of triuranium octoxide.
