Terrain Minerals has reported strong drilling results from its Lightning gold prospect in Western Australia, pointing to a larger and higher-grade system than first thought.

The drilling program, carried out between November 2025 and February 2026, tested how far the gold extends and how deep it goes. In total, 29 holes were drilled, covering more than 5300 metres.

The results show that gold mineralisation continues both along the strike and at depth, which is a key sign of a potentially significant deposit.

Several high-grade hits stood out. These include 8 metres at 6.87 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 7 metres at 7.08 g/t, with even higher-grade sections within those zones. Other results also showed consistent gold across different areas of the prospect.

Drilling has also  pointed to a possible third gold structure below the main zone. This suggests the system could be more complex, and larger, than previously understood. Further drilling is planned to follow up on this target.

The company now has a solid base of drilling data, with close to 16,000 metres completed across the project. With a mining lease already granted, Terrain is moving ahead with plans to deliver its first mineral resource estimate by July 2026.

Terrain Minerals executive director Justin Virgin said the results confirm the company’s expectations and highlight the scale of the opportunity at Lightning.

“The results are exactly what we expected to see. The drilling has confirmed that the high-grade gold mineralisation [at Lightning] extends along the strike and at depth,” he said in a statement.

The project sits in a well-known gold region north of Perth, with existing infrastructure nearby. If the upcoming resource estimate confirms the current results, Lightning could become an important new gold asset in the area.
