Massimiliano Mignacca, Managing Director of independent hydrocarbon producer Ammat Global Resources will participate as a speaker at the inaugural Congo Energy & Investment Forum (CEIF) 2025 this March in Brazzaville.
Set to showcase the company as a reliable and committed partner in Congo, Ammat Global Resources works in close collaboration with the country’s national oil company Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo (SNPC). Operating in the upstream sector, the company focuses on optimizing oil and gas operations and boosting production.
The inaugural Congo Energy & Investment Forum, set for March 24-26, 2025, in Brazzaville, under the patronage of President Denis Sassou Nguesso and supported by the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo, will bring together international investors and local stakeholder to explore national and regional energy and infrastructure opportunities. The event will explore the latest gas-to-power projects and provide updates on ongoing expansions across the country.
In 2024, Ammat Global Resources successfully revamped three platforms in the Loango offshore field, with plans currently underway to rehabilitate two more in the Zatchi field, both mature fields situated in Congo’s shallow offshore. Ammat Global Resources secured exploration and production permits for the Zatchi and Loango fields in 2023, which were previously operated by energy majors Eni and TotalEnergies.
At the Loango field, which commenced operations in July 2023, Ammat Global Resources has launched an initiative to modernize the sea pipeline linking the field’s treatment platform to peripheral platforms. The company is also implementing an environmental risk mitigation program in partnership with other operators. Ammat Global Resources has also launched a campaign to replace outdated pumps and reactivate wells, utilizing advanced workover techniques such as ESP pump upgrades to enhance production.
Development of the fields align with the SNPC’s strategic plan to double oil production while enhancing operational safety. The comprehensive plan also involves revamping the structural an asset integrity of operational platforms at the fields, which includes maintenance and replacement of key components. Since its implementation, the plan has resulted in a 75% increase in production capacity, rising from approximately 4,000 bpd to around 7,000 bpd.
Ammat Global Resources has operations in various aspects of the oil and gas development cycle, from securing exploration rights to exploration, appraisal, development and decommissioning. The company’s operations are driven by a data-centric strategy focused on optimizing reservoir management and boosting hydrocarbon production while making a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.
“Massimiliano Mignacca’s participation at CEIF will be pivotal to showcasing Ammat Global Resources’ significant role in revitalizing Congo’s petroleum sector. His insights will highlight the company’s commitment to sustainable growth and its vital contributions to increasing oil production, while fostering key international partnerships to drive the nation’s ambitious energy goals,” states Sandra Jeque, Events and Project Director at Energy Capital & Power.
