Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced the resumption of production at the Al Maboruk oilfield, located in the Sirte Basin.
Production at the field officially began this week after a 10-year hiatus at an initial rate of 5,000 barrels per day (bpd). Plans are in place to increase production to 7,000 bpd by the end of the month and 25,000 bpd by July.
The NOC has also revealed that crude oil transportation via pipelines to Al-Bahi field began on March 11, which comes as part of efforts to improve efficiency in the country’s oil infrastructure and operations.
