EDF Power Solutions North America has signed a 30-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Southern California Public Power Authority for the Utah Solar 1 Energy project in California. The project will deliver power to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power from a 300 MWac solar facility in Millard County, Utah. Commercial operations for the project are expected to commence in mid-2027.

The project is estimated to generate more than $40 million in local tax revenue and $27 million in lease revenue over the term of the agreement. The project is also expected to produce approximately 766,000 MWh of clean electricity annually which is enough to power about 126,800 California homes.

In May 2026, EDF Power Solutions North America, Red Rock Indian Band, and Fort William First Nation signed a PPA with Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) for the 200 MW Northern Breeze Energy wind project, located near Thunder Bay. The project is owned 50 per cent by EDF Power Solutions, 25 per cent each by Red Rock Indian Brand and Fort William First Nation.
