Germany’s Federal Network Agency has announced the results of the auction held on July 1, 2025 for ground-mounted solar photovoltaic projects and solar installations on constructions other than buildings or noise barriers. The tendered capacity was 2,266 MW, with the auction being oversubscribed and receiving bids totalling 2,820 MW.
The total number of bids received was 313 bids, of which 258 were awarded with a combined capacity of 2,271 MW. Furthermore, 36 bids were excluded from the process. The successful bid prices in the pay-as-bid process ranged from €0.04 per kWh to €0.0626 per kWh, with a volume-weighted average price of €0.0484 per kWh. This was slightly higher than the average price in the previous auction round of €0.0466 per kWh.
Bavaria secured the largest share of awarded capacity in the auction, totalling 689 MW secured from 106 bids. This was followed by Rhineland-Palatinate with an awarded capacity of 251 MW from 23 bids, and Lower Saxony with an awarded capacity of 250 MW from 18 bids.
