Ntpc Rel Floats Bos Tender For 900 Mw Solar Projects In Andhra Pradesh

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has invited online bids from eligible bidders for the balance of system (BOS) package for the development of 900 MW of grid-connected solar projects, configured as 1×500 MW and 1×400 MW, at Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh. The deadline for bid submission is June 5, 2026.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar plant, excluding the supply of PV modules and construction of inverter or HT switchgear rooms with associated LT and HT systems, and execution of all civil and electrical works required for grid interfacing up to the 33 kV main pooling switchgear at the owner’s substation. Additionally, it involves laying and termination of HT cables, installation of module cleaning systems, and development of internal infrastructure such as roads, pathways, drainage systems, fencing, and security facilities. The scope also includes arranging construction power and water supply, supply of mandatory spares, and comprehensive operation and maintenance of the solar PV plant and associated equipment for a period of three years after commissioning of the full project capacity.

According to the eligibility criteria, the bidders should have either be a developer of, or should have experience in designing, supplying, erecting or supervising erection, and commissioning or supervising commissioning of BoS for grid-connected solar plants with a cumulative installed capacity of at least 40 MWp, including at least one project of 10 MWp or more that has been in successful operation for a minimum of six months. Alternatively, the bidders can demonstrate experience as a developer or engineering, procurement, and construction contractor, in execution of industrial projects in sectors such as power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemicals, fertilisers, cement, or mining within specified financial thresholds, along with execution of at least one electrical substation of 33 kV or higher voltage level. The financial criteria specify that bidders must meet minimum average annual turnover requirements over the past three financial years, depending on the capacity bid. The thresholds are Rs 710 million for the 400 MW block, Rs 887.5 million for the 500 MW block, and Rs 1,597.5 million for the 900 MW, and maintain a net worth of at least 100 percent of their paid-up share capital.
