The vessel will be used by OranjeWind – a joint venture between RWE and TotalEnergies – for planned and unplanned maintenance work on the Dutch windfarm. The agreement has a term of five years with an option to extend.

“We are proud to support the OranjeWind offshore wind project with Purus Power during the windfarm’s operation and maintenance phase,” a Purus spokesperson said. “We look forward to contributing to the stable and sustainable operation of the windfarm in the years ahead.”

Purus Power has a length overall of 88 m and breadth of 19 m and has a diesel-electric/battery-hybrid propulsion system. The vessel is also prepared for future upgrades and conversion to emission-free energy sources.

Purus Power is a sister vessel to Purus Chinook, the company’s first CSOV, which was delivered on 29 April 2025. The vessels are of Vard 4 19 design, a design developed by Vard Design in Ålesund and customised for Purus.

The vessels are designed for excellent seakeeping and fuel efficiency with a modern hull and optimised propulsion system in which the battery-hybrid arrangement allows for zero-emissions operation for periods of time.
