OX2 has completed and transferred the ownership of the 455.4 MW Lestijärvi wind farm in Finland to a consortium comprising Kymppivoima, Oulun Energia, and Kuopion Energia. Construction of the project was carried out by OX2, which consists of 69 wind turbines and represents an investment of €650 million. OX2 will continue to manage the wind farm’s technical and financial operations.
The wind farm is expected to generate more than 1.3 TWh of electricity annually. This output is equivalent to around 1.6 per cent of Finland’s total electricity generation of 82.7 TWh in 2024. Additionally, the municipality of Lestijärvi is expected to receive real estate tax revenues of approximately €2.4 million annually from the project. Moreover, following the completion of Lestijärvi, OX2 has five wind projects under construction in Finland with a combined capacity of around 750 MW.
In December 2025, OX2 commenced construction of three onshore wind projects in Finland following a final investment decision, covering a cumulative capacity of 277 MW. The Kannisto wind farm is located in Central Ostrobothnia, and the Korkeamaa wind farm and Salo-Ylikoski wind farm are located in Southern Ostrobothnia. Collectively, the three wind farms are expected to generate approximately 860 GWh of electricity annually.
