The new firm advises clients on offshore wind and wider energy projects, with a focus on negotiating supply contracts for turbines, substations, and foundations, as well as procurement strategy, strategic investments, joint ventures, acquisitions, and divestments.

The launch of the company follows Bender’s recent role as chief executive of Fred. Olsen Seawind, where he led work on major offshore wind developments.

Headquartered in Aalborg, Denmark, the firm is looking to grow its client base in the UK and other international markets. It has also made two new hires as it expands, including a senior attorney with offshore wind and commercial experience from turbine manufacturer Vestas. The move comes as activity picks up across the UK energy market, with January’s Allocation Round 7 delivering a record 8.4 GW of offshore wind capacity and unlocking an estimated £22 billion of private investment.

At the same time, developers across Europe are navigating a more complex international landscape, with investment rebounding even as supply chain pressures and delays continue to weigh on delivery. Against that backdrop, BenderKrøger said it sees growing demand for specialist advice on transactions, procurement, and investment structures across the energy and industrial markets.

The firm said it combines legal expertise with commercial insight, drawing on the founders’ experience in leadership, board, and advisory roles. Bender brings extensive senior-level experience from the renewable energy sector, including more than 2 GW of offshore wind projects across ScotWind floating wind and Irish phase one developments. He has also held board positions including chairman of Codling Wind Park in Ireland, director of ScotWind project Muir Mhòr, and president and director of Icebreaker Wind in the US.

Krøger brings experience from senior legal and commercial roles across energy, infrastructure, and industry, including positions at Aalborg Energie Technik and Aalborg Portland Holding. The pair said the new firm has been built to offer clients advice shaped by the realities of major projects and business. It is targeting growth among clients looking for commercially grounded support on major projects and transactions, saying its experience across large-scale energy projects, supply chains, governance, and cross-border partnerships would help it offer clear and practical advice on complex matters.

“We are launching BenderKrøger at a time when energy and industrial businesses are dealing with tougher decisions on investment, projects, and growth” said Mr Bender. “Clients need more than legal analysis – they need advice that reflects how deals and major projects work in practice. That is what we want to offer. Our experience from legal practice, leadership roles, boardrooms, and project delivery means we understand the pressures behind the paperwork. We are based in Denmark, but we see strong opportunities to work with clients in the UK and other international markets, offering practical and commercially grounded support on complex cross-border matters.”
