West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) has floated a tender for the development of a 100 MW solar power project with a 25 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The project will be situated at Goaltore in the Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal (Phase II).
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work covers the design, engineering, supply, construction, and commissioning of the solar plus storage system. It also encompasses providing 12-year operations and maintenance services for the project. Furthermore, the contractor is required to guarantee a minimum level of annual energy output from the solar project, determined using local weather data and the minimum performance parameters of the BESS. The bid submission deadline is March 23, 2026.
Earlier in November 2025, WBSEDCL called for bids to supply, install, operate, and manage electric vehicle charging and battery-swapping stations.
Furthermore, in October 2025, WBSEDCL issued a tender to set up 250 MW/1,000 MWh standalone BESS at the Goaltore substation in Paschim Midnapore, West Bengal.
