Following the conclusion of a three-month public consultation, Alto has announced details regarding the planned high-speed rail (HSR) corridor between Toronto, Peterborough, Ottawa, Montreal, Laval, Trois-Rivières and Quebec City for autumn 2026. The project company completed the first phase of public engagement on 24th April 2026 and is planning to publish a report with the key findings and insights in June 2026. This marks the transition of the project into the specific routing-setting phase. As part of the consultation, Alto conducted 26 in-person events, ten virtual sessions and 32 stakeholder engagement sessions with more than 10,000 people in rural and urban areas across Ontario and Quebec.
