Knoxville Locomotive Works

has appointed Shane Picklesimer as chief commercial officer. Picklesimer will lead the company’s commercial strategy with a focus on disciplined growth and long-term alignment across rail and adjacent markets. He also will support procurement and sourcing, according to a company press release. Picklesimer has worked with customers across the rail industry, including Class Is, short line and regional operators, transit agencies, utilities and industrial customers. "He brings a practical approach that supports how customers evaluate equipment, technology and long-term partnerships as the industry advances toward more resilient and next generation transportation and energy systems," said CEO Greg Hall.

Bohr Electronics

has released its new Ditchlight controller, a locomotive lighting control solution designed to enable rail operators and maintenance shops to follow familiar installation and service practices while upgrading performance and protection, Bohr officials said in a press release. Ditchlight is intended as a pin-and-bolt, drop-in compatible replacement for existing microphor-style ditch light controllers. Power is supplied to the bulbs in the same manner as legacy systems, enabling shops to maintain established wiring practices without additional modification or retraining.
