railwayTrenitalia France has announced the signing of a new 35-year lease agreement with SNCF Réseau for the construction of a new maintenance hub catering to high-speed trains in Maisons-Alfort Pompadour, Îlede-France.
The facility, which is expected to cost more than 80 million EUR, is slated to be open by the end of 2029.
Forming part of FS Italiane Group’s Industrial Plan to boost its overall presence on the main European high-speed corridors, the initiative is hoped to support the wider development of the railway sector within the French market.

The maintenance hub will support future high-speed Frecciarossa services between Paris and London through the Eurotunnel, strengthening Trenitalia France’s operational management of its fleet and enabling improvements in maintenance efficiencies.
Once operational; the hub will provide round-the-clock operations, with three maintenance tracks servicing three trains at the same time, and dedicated facilities for washing, cleaning and storing the vehicles. Once in full swing, the facility will be structured to accommodate up to 25 trains.
With this investment, we are strengthening FS Group's industrial presence in France and supporting the development of European rail mobility.
The new maintenance hub represents a strategic infrastructure that will drive the growth of Trenitalia's activities in the country, and will support future high-speed connections between Paris and London, in a view of making trains increasingly central in the European sustainable mobility landscape.
